The first leg of the journey begins.

May14, 2013
Even though we brought the coach to the house on Monday to load and prepare, it still took some time to do final preparations, but the days destination was close, and we made a late but relaxed departure. First stop, Wilderness Campground at Disney. We have heard repeatedly how nice it was, and reports were accurate. I would definitely return just to stay, even without visiting the theme parks. Horseback riding, boating, pools, nightly campfires and a Disney movie, not to mention a boat parade and fireworks!  In a very pleasant setting amongst the tall pines, with lots of room and privacy between coaches.

But the goal was the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, celebrating its 20th year, while we celebrate our 44th!  The topiaries of the Disney characters were amazing, and the grounds were filled with colorful flowers. We leisurely explored all the countries around the 4 mile World Showcase circle, taking in the 360 degree vision movies of the countries.

We also managed to see a  juggler in Italy, and the Jeweled Dragon Acrobats in China, who were amazing!

We took a couple of interesting tours and had a nice lunch at Coral Reef Restaurant with its huge aquarium where you can watch the fish swim by as you have your meal. I felt a little guilty to be eating fish! Our waitress presented us with a dessert with a chocolate banner wishing us congratulations, and then offered to take our picture.

Our second day was spent at Hollywood Studios, which is all Art Deco buildings and wonderful movie and TV memorabilia and clips. The story of  Walt Disney is fascinating. What a vision!

We had dinner in Prime Time Cafe, where our waiter, Uncle Dave, admonished us to eat our vegetables!  Such a cute spot, and different from the other 50's diners we have been in. And the comfort food was actually good!

they taped the kids art work on the fridge as we were leaving!

We extended our stay one more night to relax and take in the campground and then had a wonderful meal at a restaurant in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, where we watched the giraffes and other animals roam the savannah!

A great way to celebrate our anniversary.  So we drove 2 1/2 hours and stayed 4 days! We had a great time, but now it is time to head out!
